Garry Monk quit Leeds United last month to the shock of fans and even the new owner, but his assistant Pep Clotet remains under contract.
Monk has taken over at Middlesbrough, a move which was announced on Friday, much to the confusion of Leeds supporters who are upset he has joined a rival Championship club.
Clotet has not gone with him although his future remains unclear. SkyBet have the popular assistant as 6/1 third favourite to take over Monk’s old position and be appointed as head coach.

Leeds are the only club currently on Clotet’s mind, as demonstrated by his Twitter activity.
Over the past 24 hours Clotet has ‘liked’ seven Leeds United related tweets – and none connected to Monk’s appointment at Boro.
These have included congratulations to Ronaldo Vieira for winning the England under-20 Tournoi tournament, a happy birthday message to Leeds midfielder Toumani Diagouraga and praise of Stuart Dallas’ winner for Northern Ireland.
Innocuous, well there’s one other too, which praised Clotet’s relationship with supporters and urged the club to keep him put.
It’s possible Clotet could remain assistant to a high profile boss such as Claudio Ranieri if he did not land the job himself, and either circumstance would be welcome.
In recent seasons it has been a lack of continuity which has held Leeds back initially. Monk achieved well last season, but if Leeds can retain his assistant they have a better chance of continuing what was started.
The Spaniard certainly seems keen.
