The Leeds United manager got a much needed win under his belt in the week.

Leeds United manager Garry Monk has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s Championship clash with Cardiff City at the weekend, with his comments later published online by the Whites’ official Twitter account.
Among the subjects discussed by Monk was the return of summer signing Kemar Roofe and imminent availability of Swiss right-back Gaetano Berardi.

Both missed the recent 2-1 victory against Blackburn Rovers, with the latter side-lined since coming off injured in the opening game of the season against Queens Park Rangers.
While Luke Ayling has done a decent job in Berardi’s absence, the Swiss player is by far the better option and Leeds cannot have him back soon enough.
As for Roofe, he arrived at Elland Road with a big reputation after scoring for fun at former club Oxford United; however, he has been used sparingly to date – out on the wing rather than through the middle – and he missed the most recent match with a calf problem.

However, Monk has confirmed the 23-year-old is fit and available while Berardi will finally return to training next week.
That means Ayling is likely to continue in the role against Cardiff but if all goes well Berardi could return for the clash with Ipswich Town the following Saturday.
