Leeds United’s Barry Douglas is the Championship’s most creative defender.

Signing Barry Douglas for £3 million was one of those deals which seemed too good to be true for Leeds United.
Fortunately Wolves own plans to try and rapidly upgrade their squad meant Douglas was deemed expendable.
The left-back filled a problem position for Leeds and he has played a key role in their rise to the top of the Championship table through eight games.
First and foremost, Douglas has been defensively solid, helping Leeds concede only five goals.
Only Middlesbrough (3) have conceded fewer.
Where Douglas really comes into his own is the attacking threat he provides.

He has three assists to his name so far, the joint best in the Championship from any player, one which is also matched by Leeds teammate Pablo Hernandez.
Douglas provides an average of 1.6 key passes per game (via whoscored.com).
This is the highest figure of any defender in the Championship.
Leeds are still waiting for Douglas to score his first Leeds goal.
He struck five times for Wolves last season, and it’s only a matter of time before he does eventually get on the scoresheet for the Whites.
