Aston Villa will have to pay Manchester United £5m if they are to bring Axel Tuanzebe back to the club on loan.

The Sun claim that the Red Devils want a premium package for the 23-year-old defender this summer.

Villa are one of the sides interested in the defender. And United are looking for a club to cover his entire wage and offer a fee for the youngster.

Tuanzebe was with Villa in their promotion year in the Championship. The defender was key to Dean Smith’s side returning to the Premier League.

Yet Tuanzebe is yet to break into the first-team at United since.

Newcastle United are also interested in the England youth international. Indeed, there is a chance the youngster could leave Old Trafford on a permanent transfer.

With Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa forming a watertight centre-back spine last season, however, Tuanzebe would struggle to break into the Villa starting XI.

However, supporters on social media believe £5m for a loan fee is too much for a player who will likely not feature weekly for the club.

Mings and Konsa with Emi Martinez in goal made up one of the best defences in the Premier League last season. Whilst Tuanzebe would be a solid back-up, it will be difficult for him to break apart the trio.
