AFC Bournemouth have been linked with the Italian international.
This week has seen AFC Bournemouth linked with a huge move for AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy. The Italian international was linked by Eurosport with a move to Bournemouth in the region of £10 million.
Monaco do not want to activate a buy-clause on his current loan deal from AC Milan and it seems they are ready to cancel his deal, with a potential move to Bournemouth now being mentioned.
Now the Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed that Monaco are going to cancel the deal so that El Shaarawy can find himself a new club. He is quoted by Goal as stating:
“El Shaarawy is not any more in the project of the head coach of Monaco.
“We are currently negotiating to find a solution. Maybe it’s not a comeback in Milan. It could be elsewhere.
“We are not planning to make him play again. That’s not planned. He’s a great player with a lot of qualities. He’s an international player with Italy. We need to find the right solution for everyone. I hope we will.”
The 22-year-old has 15 caps for Italy and is considered a huge prospect although injury problems have recently waylaid his progress. Regardless he would be a massive coup for Bournemouth if they could broker a deal.
Now it is confirmed that Monaco have no plans to use the Italian prospect, and with AC Milan seemingly having no need for him, it looks a lot like Bournemouth actually might have a chance of getting hold of the player.
