Momo Sissoko has told the Express & Star he hopes to earn a contract with West Bromwich Albion.
Sissoko is a free agent after leaving Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua earlier this year and featured in the Baggies’ friendly against Delhi Dynamos on Saturday, alongside fellow trialist Marouane Chamakh.

While Chamakh’s chances of earning a deal might have been scuppered by his early exit through injury, Sissoko’s prospects seem far brighter having been asked to stick around this week.
“I feel good,” the midfielder told the Express & Star. “I was really happy to play for 60 minutes at the Hawthorns and I am confident I can do well here.
“It’s been a long time since I left England. I’ll be here with West Brom this week and we’ll see what happens after that. The manager has told me just to come and enjoy it and then we’ll sit down and talk about my future.
“But I’m really happy to back with a club in one of the best leagues in the world and I hope I can stay here.
“I have a lot of good memories from my time at Liverpool.”
Sissoko, who won league titles with Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain, is also said to have had contact with West Brom’s Premier League rivals Sunderland and Hull City (Daily Mail).
However, the Baggies, who failed to land any of their rumoured targets – Ignacio Camacho, William Carvalho and James McCarthy – ahead of last Wednesday’s transfer deadline, are seemingly in pole position.
31-year-old Sissoko previously spent three seasons in English football with Liverpool under Rafa Benitez.
Chamakh, formerly of Arsenal and Crystal Palace, has also been linked with a move to Championship side Norwich City (Norwich Evening News).
