Liverpool have sold playmaker Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates with Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has taken to Twitter to offer his reaction to Philippe Coutinho’s big-money move to Barcelona.
The Reds managed to fend off Barcelona’s interest in Coutinho over the summer, after the Catalan giants identified him as their top target to replace his Brazilian international teammate Neymar.
Coutinho got his head down and worked hard for Liverpool, hitting 12 goals and eight assists in 20 games in all competitions, but his time at Anfield is now over.

Coutinho finally completed a move to Barcelona earlier this week, with the La Liga giants paying around £146million to land him, according to a report from Sky Sports.
Liverpool clearly felt that such a huge fee – the second-biggest in football history – was too good to turn down, though some fans are gutted to see such a key player leave in mid-season.
The onus will now fall on other Liverpool players to drive Jurgen Klopp’s men forward, and Mohamed Salah is one such player who will be called upon to thrive, having already hit 22 goals this season.

Salah only spent a matter of months with Coutinho having joined from Roma over the summer, and the Egyptian tonight took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on the deal.
Salah tweeted that he ‘really enjoyed’ playing alongside Coutinho, and wished him the best of luck with Barcelona, capping off their short time together at Anfield.
