Celtic ace Mohamed Elyounoussi has told the Daily Record that he thinks Albian Ajeti will be in the goals once he’s fit and confident.
The Bhoys smashed KR Reykjavik 6-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night, picking up a huge win at Parkhead.
Celtic head into the second round to take on Ferencvaros, and the Bhoys will be hoping for more quality from Elyounoussi.
The Norwegian winger scored twice against Reykjavik in a superb display, and he was able to reunite on the pitch with Albian Ajeti.
Celtic have snapped up the striker in a permanent move, rescuing him from what was a disappointing year at West Ham United.
Elyounoussi and Ajeti played together at Basel, and were sensational in the 2017-18 season, smashing a combined 30 goals and 22 assists.
Ajeti came on as a substitute against Reykjavik and looked a tad rusty, which is to be expected after little first-team action over the last year.
Elyounoussi has now admitted that he thinks Ajeti is smart, strong and clever, believing that they can rekindle their connection from Basel – and he predicted that Ajeti will score plenty once he builds up his fitness and confidence.

“He just came a few days ago. He will need some time to get fit,” said Elyounoussi. “But he is a strong player physically, smart player, very clever in front of goal. He had a few assists for me, I had a few assists for him when we played together.”
“When he gets fit and gets confidence, I am sure he will score some goals here. We know each other well – if we both play we know what to expect from each other,” he added.
