Celtic summer signing Mohamed Elyounoussi has told the Daily Record that youngster Jeremie Frimpong has already impressed him at Parkhead.

Frimpong also moved to Celtic this summer, and he has quickly started to break into Neil Lennon’s side.

The 18-year-old has been given a handful of first team chances for Celtic so far, with Lennon clearly an admirer of the defender.

Frimpong has shown great energy at Celtic so far, and the teenager got on the scoresheet in his latest showing against Aberdeen.

Elyounoussi also scored in the match, as the Bhoys picked up a 4-0 victory.

And the Southampton loanee admits that he has been very impressed by Frimpong, since joining him at Celtic.

“Jeremie was great today and defensively we were strong. He has quick feet and is very brave for his age,” Elyounoussi said.

“He needs to keep his feet on the ground and to keep working hard. He is still in the early stages of his career and if he is humble and works hard then he can have a great career.”

Celtic’s 4-0 victory over Aberdeen was very impressive, with Lennon’s side recovering well from a recent blip.

The Bhoys are currently leading the way in the Scottish Premiership, although Rangers are level on points with them.

Celtic are next in action against St. Mirren at the weekend, when it remains to be seen whether Frimpong will keep his place.
