The Gambian’s have both joined Leeds on January loan deals.

Leeds United concluded two pieces of good business on transfer deadline day, although both play in the same position.

Alfonso Pedraza arrived on loan from Villarreal and Modou Barrow was signed from Swansea City.

The latter becomes the second Gambian in a row to join Leeds in a January transfer window.

Last winter Leeds went to Middlesbrough to bring in Muzzy Carayol on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Carayol arrived as a recruit of Steve Evans as Leeds struggled for wide options, in sharp contrast to their current riches out wide.

He featured in 14 games for Leeds and scored on his debut. In February it was reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post that he would be approached for a permanent deal in the summer.

But his form at Leeds slipped and by the end of the season it looked apparent he would not be a permanent fixture at Elland Road.

When Steve Evans went, so did Carayol’s hopes of moving to Leeds.

He ended up joining Nottingham Forest and Leeds United fans will hope that Barrow can have a much lengthier impact at the club after his arrival from the Liberty Stadium.
