Modou Barrow has revealed the extent to which Leeds are popular in his home country, Gambia. Barrow joined the Championship on loan from Premier League outfit Swansea City in the January transfer window, having worked with head coach Garry Monk at the Liberty Stadium.

“Everybody knows the history about Leeds even back home in Gambia, so I am really pleased to be here.”
“To be honest, there are some teams back home in Gambia playing in the league who name themselves Leeds United, so it’s a massive thing back home,” added the 24-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a forward.

Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 54 points from 29 matches, six points behind second-placed Brighton & Hove Albion, who have played a fewer game.
Monk’s side will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Huddersfield Town away from home at the John Smith’s Stadium in the Championship. It promises to be a hugely entertaining and exciting game of football.
