Ian Wright has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was disappointed with his teammate Luis Diaz against West Ham United at Anfield.

The Arsenal legend has said during the second half of the Premier League game between Liverpool and West Ham on Saturday evening., there was a moment when Salah would have preferred Diaz to pass him the ball instead of trying to score on his own.

Diaz, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in the January transfer window, received the ball inside his own half.

The Colombia international winger then went on a great run, but on the edge of the West Ham penalty area, he went down.

Egypt international forward Salah was in a good position on Diaz’s right to receive the ball, but the Colombian did not play him.

While analysing that chance for Liverpool, MOTD pundit Wright said: “Mo Salah is a little bit disappointed with that one.”

Liverpool should take their chances

In our view, Liverpool should have won by a bigger margin against West Ham.

Yes, we know that the Hammers are a good team, but Jurgen Klopp’s side could have easily dropped two points.

Liverpool should have been more clinical, and the players, like Diaz, should have made better decisions in and around the penalty area.

Manchester City are still ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table, which means that the Reds cannot afford any slip-ups and have to win.
