The Magpies were beaten 2-0 by Walter Zenga’s team on Saturday.

Newcastle United midfielder Mohamed Diame has told the Chronicle they knew early on that something was wrong against Wolves.
The Magpies hosted their Championship rivals on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their winning run to six games.
It proved to be a highly frustrating afternoon for them though as an own goal from Chancel Mbemba and a strike from Helder Costa saw Walter Zenga’s team to a 2-0 win.
It was an indifferent display from the home side, who managed to get just three of their 17 shots on target.

There was something missing in their play, to say the least, and Diame says they could feel it as a team.
“To be honest I don’t know what went wrong,” he told the Chronicle.
“Early on we felt something wasn’t right in our play. Normally we always get the possession and provide a good tempo in the game but against Wolves we were playing the wrong way for whatever reason.”

The defeat was certainly a disappointing one for Newcastle given the form they have shown in recent weeks.
It leaves them third in the table with 15 points from their first eight games of the season and four points behind surprise leaders Huddersfield Town.
They will need to return to winning ways as quickly as possible to keep themselves in the title race as a result.
They return to league action when they travel to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon and both sides will be desperate for the victory.
