Former Leeds United loanee Modou Barrow will be hoping to face his old side later today.

With Leeds not in the best form heading into their clash with Reading back in October, Whites fans would have been forgiven for getting that sinking feeling when Royals boss Jaap Stam introduced Modou Barrow into the game with 25 minutes to go.
Barrow endured a miserable loan spell at Elland Road last season, barely getting a look in as Garry Monk’s side’s play-off push faded away in spectacular fashion. When the winger did play, he hardly looked like a player who deserved considerably more opportunities either.

So it would have surprised no-one that it was Barrow who would be the one to score past an inspired Andy Lonergan with six minutes left to help Reading to a 1-0 victory earlier in the season.
It will therefore prove an ominous sign for Leeds fans that the winger appears to be going into Saturday’s game between the two clubs off the back of a decent patch of form.
Barrow has featured in two of Reading’s last three games and he has certainly staked a claim to start for Stam’s side at the Madejski Stadium today as he scored in both of those last two appearances having not found the back of the net in his previous 10 outings.

Everything appears to be going wrong for Leeds at the moment with Paul Heckingbottom’s men going into the clash with the Royals off the back of two consecutive 3-0 defeats that have virtually left their play-off hopes in tatters.
With Barrow proving to be little more than a passenger during his time at Leeds – though he was hardly given the chance to be much more by Monk – Leeds fans may well get that same sinking feeling today that the winger may prove to be the man to put the final nail in the coffin regarding their hopes of challenging for the top six.
