Charles Green the new chief executive at Ibrox will have incurred the wrath of many an Aston Villa, Southampton and Swansea fan with his comments. But does he have a point? What do you think?

Rangers chief executive Charles Green has launched a scathing attack on some of the middle of the run teams in the Premier League when talking about the potential for a European Super League.

The idea has been mooted and entertained by UEFA but more in the form of the clubs from across Europe’s financially weaker leagues in order for them to try and up flagging revenue.

While the idea of Dutch, Belgian and Scandinavian clubs forming a league together seemed to get support in circles the idea of a Super League containing the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United has not been floated seriously in years.

He went on, however, to be quite disrespectful to the teams currently playing in the Premier League.

“How can Manchester United’s revenues be £320m and Aston Villa, who are completely useless, get £250m? seen here at BBC Sport.

Not really very fair on Aston Villa, who must be doing something right to be achieving what they are.

While Green also mentioned how Arsenal ‘don’t want to play’ teams like Southampton and Swansea and instead the fans want to see them playing Celtic or Rangers; not music to the ears in the South of England or Wales.

Charles should probably just temper his comments, considering Rangers were defeated last weekend in the Scottish Third Division by Stirling 1-0.

Not exactly on par with Swansea, Southampton, Aston Villa, or with all due respect, Accrington Stanley, to that matter.

But he asked the question so we are putting out there.

Would you rather watch Arsenal take on Southampton or Rangers; Aston Villa or Celtic…let us know?
