Niko Kranjcar is reportedly wanted by teams in Russia, Greece, Turkey and Austria this summer.

Niko Kranjcar is looking to put behind him possibly the most difficult season of his career; and it looks like he will be doing it at a new club.

Last summer the Croatian made the move from Tottenham Hotspur to Dynamo Kiev after watching his first-team chances at White Hart Lane diminish as Gareth Bale’s star continued to shine.

Kiev saw Kranjcar as a major tool in their bid to challenge Shakhtar Donetsk for domestic supremacy last season. But in the end he only made a handful more appearances than he did in his final year at Spurs.

He started the season as a regular but rarely played 90 minutes and after the winter break he found himself out of the starting line-up altogether.

Then he picked up a nasty injury on international duty and his season was toast.

Add to that spending more time on the front page than the back for rumours about his personal life and there is little wonder Kiev have replaced him this summer.

They have brought in Younes Belhanda from Montpellier in what is a shock signing and that effectively leaves Kranjcar surplus to requirements.

Now the £7 million signing is being courted to other clubs; but according to reports in Russia he has plenty of admirers.

They say that four teams are interested in bringing the player in this summer.

First there is reported interest from Lokomotiv Moscow. It is reported that the ball in this deal got rolling when former national team coach and countryman Slaven Bilic was at the helm of the club. Despite him leaving for Besiktas this summer it is believed that deal is still on the table.

Bilic however may have also carried on that interest as the Turkish side look to bring in big names to help fight Galatasaray and Fenerbahce for the Turkish crown.

Olympiakos are also said to be keen while the more interesting offer would be from Rapid Vienna. He started his career in Austria and it is reported they feel that talking him round to a homecoming would not be difficult.

But it would not be sensational to suggest that at 28-years-old this is likely to be the most important next move of his career so far – with it potentially being the last big move he will ever make.
