RB – Justin Morrow (Toronto FC)
Toronto’s versatile full-back produce a fine performance in their 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact at BMO Field, racking up seven tackles, two interceptions and three clearances.
CB – Roman Torres (Seattle Sounders)
Seattle squeezed out a narrow 2-1 home win over Cascadia rivals the Portland Timbers thanks to their robust defence, as Torres anchored the backline with two tackles, seven clearances and a match-leading 10 interceptions.
CB – Raul Rodriguez (Houston Dynamo)
The Dynamo’s Spanish stopper netted his second goal of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, while also recording eight interceptions and five clearances.
LB – Maynor Figueroa (Colorado Rapids)
The former Hull City and Wigan Athletic defender helped the Rapids beat Houston 2-1 in Wednesday night’s clash at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, before grabbing his first MLS goal in the weekend’s 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City.
RW – Vicente Sanchez (Colorado Rapids)
The veteran winger scored the opener in Colorado’s mid-week win, before setting up both goals against SKC to help move his side off the bottom of the Western Conference at the expense of Real Salt Lake.
CM – Marc Pelosi (San Jose Earthquakes)
The 21-year-old got the better of former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard on Friday night, completing 90 per cent of his 68 passes in just his second MLS start since returning to the States from Anfield this summer.
CM – Sacha Kljestan (New York Red Bulls)
After netting a penalty in Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat at the Chicago Fire, the playmaker got the Red Bulls back on track on the weekend with another goal and an assist in their 3-0 home win over D.C. United.
LW – Mike Grella (New York Red Bulls)
The former Leeds United forward also produced a fine assist against longtime rivals United to set up Bradley Wright-Phillips’ second goal, along with recording five key passes to reinforce his US national team credentials.
ST – Kevin Doyle (Colorado Rapids)
The Republic of Ireland international seems to be finding his form after getting acclimatised to life in MLS, as he netted the game-winners in both of Colorado’s home victories in Week 26.
ST – Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls)
A brace on the weekend made it 13 goals in 25 games this season for the former Southampton and Charlton Athletic striker, who’s proving to his doubters that his record-breaking 2014 campaign wasn’t all down to having Thierry Henry as his strike-partner.
