The former Real Madrid star and ex-Aston Villa loanee were among the star performers in week 11 of MLS action.
GK – Chris Konopka (Toronto FC)
The Canadian club would have had no chance of claiming a 1-1 draw at the New England Revolution were it not for their backup keeper, who made an impressive seven saves on the night.
RB – London Woodberry (New England Revolution)
The former FC Dallas man has proved a more than capable starter since coming into the line-up last month and set up Juan Agudelo’s strike in the draw with Toronto for his second assist in three games.
CB – Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders)
The US international endured some criticism in the opening weeks of the season after moving to centre-back but has come into his own since, recording four tackles, four interceptions and a match-leading 12 clearances in Seattle’s 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
CB – Jermaine Taylor (Houston Dynamo)
The Jamaica international made two tackles, eight interceptions and seven clearances to help Houston beat the Portland Timbers 3-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium, while also setting up Will Bruin’s second goal with a sublime long ball.
LB – Jordan Stewart (San Jose Earthquakes)
The Earthquakes upset the Columbus Crew 2-0 thanks in no small part to the ex-Leicester and Watford defender, whose cross set up Chris Wondolowski’s second-half opener to put the home side on course for three points.
RM – Andres Romero (Montreal Impact)
The Argentine bagged a brace inside a 10-minute spell as Montreal thumped Real Salt Lake 4-1 to claim just their first win of the season.
CM – Michael Bradley (Toronto FC)
While Konopka’s shot-stopping heroics were crucial to Toronto’s road point, it was their skipper who grabbed the equaliser with a superb solo goal, charging through the New England defence before firing inside the far post to level the scores.
CM – Kaka (Orlando City SC)
After looking a bit off the pace in recent weeks, the Brazilian superstar showed his class in Sunday’s home clash with the LA Galaxy, record an assist and scoring a penalty to help seal a shock 4-0 win.
LM – Shea Salinas (San Jose Earthquakes)
Having forced Mohammed Saeid into a poor challenge which earned the Columbus Crew midfielder a red card, the winger would go on to grab San Jose’s second goal on the hour to seal the win.
ST – Chad Barrett (Seattle Sounders)
Deputising for the injured Obafemi Martins, the much-maligned front man silenced some of his doubters with a first-half brace to down Cascadia rivals Vancouver.
ST – Will Bruin (Houston Dynamo)
The powerful striker showed some signs of the form which earned him a US national team call up back in 2013, scoring either side of half-time in the win over the Timbers.
