Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara tends to divide opinion at Ibrox – but former Finland boss Mixu Paatelainen has hailed him whilst speaking to The Scottish Sun.
Kamara joined Rangers in a bargain move from Dundee in January 2019, having already penned a pre-contract agreement with the Gers.
The former Arsenal made a big impact at first, providing real composure and technical ability in the Rangers midfield.
Last season was a little trickier, as Kamara struggled to reach top form, particularly in the second half of the season.
Some feel that Kamara slows the game down too much with sideways and backwards passing, whilst others think his ability on the ball makes him key for Steven Gerrard.
Kamara played in Finland’s impressive 1-0 win over Ireland on Sunday, and has now received praise from Finnish legend Paatelainen, who was a hero in Scotland.
Hong Kong boss Paatelainen believes that Kamara could be worth ‘anything’ if he impresses at the European Championships next summer, and whilst he is in a ‘good place’ at Rangers right now, he thinks teams will be eyeing Kamara.

“It is difficult to put figures on anybody’s forehead,” said Paatelainen. “But players like that are highly valued so I wouldn’t be surprised if anything happened for him if he does well at the Euros. But he is a Rangers player just now.”
“At 24, he is still young. And with him being under Steven Gerrard’s management I am sure he will learn from him. So I think he is in a good place at the moment,” he added.
90Min reported last month that Everton and Newcastle United are keen on Kamara, so Paatelainen may not be far wrong – and if he was to leave, then Kamara would earn Rangers a huge profit.
