The Everton loanee has been a standout performer for Nottingham Forest this season.

Kieran Dowell of Nottingham Forest shoots during the Carabao Cup Third Round match between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on September 19, 2017 in London, England.

Everton loanee Kieran Dowell will remain with Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the season, according to the Liverpool Echo.

There were suggestions that Dowell could be recalled by the Premier League strugglers after his impressive performances for Forest.

The 20-year-old midfielder scored a hat-trick in a 3-2 victory over Hull City on Saturday and has five Championship goals for the season.

Everton are currently being managed by David Unsworth, who oversaw Dowell’s development at the club’s academy, but the Echo reports that the loan deal has “no option for an early return” to Goodison Park.

That will be a huge boost to the Tricky Trees, who are two points adrift of a playoff spot thanks to Dowell’s influence.

However, Forest boss Mark Warburton has indicated to the Nottingham Post that the talented youngster will return to Everton at the end of the campaign.

Forest fans would love to see Dowell join on a permanent deal, but Warburton played down any chance of that happening and strongly hinted that the player’s long-term future lies with the Toffees.

“Kieran Dowell is an Everton player on loan at Nottingham Forest. It’s great to say ‘keep him and do this’ but he’s an Everton player,” he is quoted by the Nottingham Post as saying.

“We’re delighted to have him. I think he’s enjoying the move and Everton are benefiting from the experience he’s gaining.

“Don’t lose sight of the fact that he’s an Everton player. As long as all parties benefit then the loan is fantastic for everyone concerned.”
