Liverpool face Leicester City, Chelsea and Derby County in their next three matches.

Liverpool were only one of two clubs to defeat Leicester City in the Premier League last season, and the first to defeat the Foxes on their travels as the Reds won 1-0 at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have improved since then, and next weekend they will entertain the reigning champions in their first home game of the season following the redevelopment of Anfield.

It’s set up to be another tense afternoon, though with extra firepower going forward the Merseysiders will fancy their chances against a Leicester side who have started the campaign in inconsistent fashion.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte

Chelsea vs Liverpool (September 16)

These two familiar rivals have had their fair share of classic encounters over the years and this coming fixture will have a unique feel about it, what with the game taking place on a Friday night.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have notched three wins from three so far this season, though that tally could have been very different had it not been for controversial striker Diego Costa scoring late goals.

The Reds beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, though this time around the Blues seem a lot more together under Conte and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them once again edge a tight game.

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

Derby County manager Nigel Pearson

Derby County v Liverpool (EFL Cup, September 20)

Liverpool safely advanced to the third round of the EFL Cup with a 5-0 thrashing at Burton Albion in the second round, and their reward is another trip to the Midlands to face Derby County.

The Rams have started slowly under Nigel Pearson and while the side are not conceding too many goals, they have only managed one strike in five league matches thus far which is a great concern.

Liverpool may look to rotate the squad a bit, yet Klopp will want his side to put together a cup run and try and go one further than last season’s heartbreaking penalty shootout final defeat to Manchester City.

The Merseysiders should win, and with the right blend upfront they could be in for another superb night.
