Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are expressing regret over the sale of Danny Ings.

Ings left the Reds to join Southampton in a £20 million deal in the summer of 2018.

And since then, the former Liverpool hitman has been tearing up the Premier League, netting 22 goals last season and three in four games so far this time around.

In recent years, the Premier League champions have made huge money on players who proved to be not worth it, like Dominic Solanke and Jordon Ibe, but Ings certainly isn’t in that bracket.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson posted a photo alongside the Saints marksman during England training today.

And here’s how fans of the Anfield club responded on Twitter:

In retrospect, Liverpool probably could’ve kept Ings but, by the same token, he wanted and needed regular football.

Was he going to play ahead of Roberto Firmino under Jurgen Klopp? No and therefore leaving made sense, especially given how much football the England international had missed due to injury.
