Wesley missed Aston Villa’s latest pre-season friendly.

The new Aston Villa signing Wesley Moraes has eased concerns raised by some Villans supporters about his fitness.
Wesley missed Aston Villa’s pre-season friendly win at Charlton Athletic on Saturday, sparking fears within the club’s fanbase.
The Villa manager Dean Smith later insisted via the Birmingham Mail that the Brazilian ‘had a knock’ and would be due back in training on Tuesday or Wednesday.
But Smith’s explanation, it seems, was not enough for some of an Aston Villa persuasion, one of whom wrote on Wesley’s Instagram page: “Can we see photos of his leg to make sure it’s not broken(?) Photos can be deceiving.”
And that prompted the £22 million arrival from Club Brugge to reply: “Come watch me at Villa Park and take your own conclusions my brother! #Peace”
Losing Wesley would leave Aston Villa somewhat short of bodies in attack, with Jonathan Kodjia, Keinan Davis and Scott Hogan the Villans’ only recognised, senior centre-forwards.
The 22-year-old is expected to be joined shortly at Villa Park by his former Club Brugge teammate, Marvelous Nakamba.
