Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela is out of form.

After missing the first game of the season, Erik Lamela hit form instantly for Tottenham Hotspur.
He scored four goals and provided three assists for Spurs in his first six games through August, September and early October.
Contributing over a goal a game, it seemed as though Lamela was on course for his best ever season for Tottenham by some distance, and finally fulfilling his potential.
His prolific start makes what has happened since so disappointing.
Lamela’s influence waned, with just two more goals between early October and Christmas.
In 2019? Nothing. No goals, no assists in 11 games.

Lamela’s last assist was in December, and his last goal in November.
The Argentine is playing, but he is missing in action.
So what’s going wrong?
Lamela is a confidence player and he seems to be lacking it right now.
He has lost his place as a regular starter. The only time he has played 90 minutes in 2019 was the 2-1 Carabao Cup loss to Chelsea.
This alone though does not explain his decline. During his prolific early season stint, where he scored or assisted in every one of his first six matches, he only completed 90 minutes once.
For Tottenham it is a terrible shame, as Lamela is no longer providing an impact when they need it most.
Spurs need him to step up, because the team has so much to play for right now.
If they can get Lamela back on form, Tottenham’s attack could be even scarier.
