Kyle Lafferty hasn’t been a big success since returning to Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers.

Kyle Lafferty of Rangers is seen prior to the Ladbrookes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on February 16, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to The Record, Rangers are interested in Osijek hitman Mirko Maric.

Rangers will need to upgrade a number of positions this summer if Steven Gerrard’s side are to challenge Celtic next season.

And it looks like Gerrard might be keen on bolstering his attacking options with the 23-year-old, who has netted 16 times this season.

But if Maric comes in, it may mean a certain Kyle Lafferty is heading out.

Maric, valued at £3 million by the Croatian club, stands at 6’2 and the truth is that the Gers won’t need two physical strikers, with Lafferty being 6’4.

The Northern Irishman has been a big disappointment since returning to Ibrox, scoring one Premiership goal in 2019 and only six overall for the light Blues.

Even without Maric, there would be doubts over whether Gerrard would keep Lafferty, but if the Croatian is signed, or is even a target, then the big man is a dead man walking.
