Erik ten Hag has just issued a huge blow to West Ham United and Crystal Palace’s interest in signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka, having stated the right-back will stay at Manchester United.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka ‘will stay’ at Manchester United amid West Ham interest
Erik ten Hag has poured cold water over David Moyes and Patrick Vieira’s attempts to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka before Thursday’s transfer deadline. The West Ham United and Crystal Palace bosses were eager to sign the right-back, who is now staying at Manchester United.

Wan-Bissaka has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford following Ten Hag’s arrival at the helm this summer. The 24-year-old has only played four minutes during the Red Devils’ opening four Premier League fixtures, having remained an unused substitute in three games so far.

Diogo Dalot has, instead, emerged as the Dutch tactician’s first-choice at full-back, raising doubts over Wan-Bissaka’s future at the club. The Telegraph reported earlier on in August that Manchester United want to sell or loan their £50m arrival from Crystal Palace in 2019.
Yet while Vieira is open to offering the Eagles product a return to Selhurst Park, he is only willing to spend £10m. An approach from West Ham, as cited by The Athletic, also fell on deaf ears at Manchester United this week, given the lack of time to obtain a replacement.

Ten Hag has now, seemingly, brought a complete halt to Moyes and Vieira’s pursuits after declaring his refusal to sell. The Manchester United boss is determined to fend off interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace in Wan-Bissaka and to keep him until, at least, January.
“Aaron will stay,” Ten Hag stated, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News. “This squad will go from September to a minimum January.”
Wan-Bissaka may yet push to leave Manchester United before the summer sales slam shut on Thursday and force a move if West Ham or Crystal Palace remain interested. But Moyes and Vieira may need Ten Hag to have his replacement through the door to test his resolve.
