Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Robbie Williams has been speaking about his experience of going into the England camp.
The pop star was invited to perform for the England squad in Qatar during their World Cup camp, and by the sounds of it, Williams enjoyed his trip to the camp as much as the players did.
Indeed, the Take That star says that while he is 48 years old, he’s still a little kid at heart and that he was starstruck when seeing some of his heroes.
Williams says that two players, in particular, had him excited, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice.

Williams star struck by Saka
The singer spoke about his time amongst the England squad.
“I spent time with the lads and I had the best time ever. I’m 48, but in reality I’m 16 or 14. I went into the camp as an elder statesman in my industry, but when I got in there I was like ‘oh my god it’s Declan Rice! Oh my god it’s Saka!’ Even Jude Bellingham who is 19, I’m a bit like. It was a mutual thing with the camp, I dig them and they dig me, it was just like wow, absolutely mindblowing,” Williams said.
The power of football
This just goes to show the power that football has throughout society.
Throughout his life, Williams has rubbed shoulders with some of the richest and most famous figures in all walks of life, but it’s the stars of his favourite sport that really get him giddy.
Williams could probably meet the King and not be too phased by it, but if you put him in a room with Bukayo Saka he gets excited.
Players such as Saka, Rice and Bellingham may only be young, but they are superstars.
