The Toffees defender and Colombia international is impressing at the back but is also eager to deliver at the other end of the pitch.

Yerry Mina of Everton shouts during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on December 10, 2018 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

It has taken a while for Yerry Mina to break into the Everton line-up but he’s now ticking along very nicely.

The defender moved from Barcelona to Goodison Park in the summer but did not feature in the early stages of the Toffees’ campaign due to injury (Transfermarkt).

Mina’s first involvement in the first team was a place on the bench against Crystal Palace on 21 October but he still had to wait until 3 November against Brighton for his first foray onto the pitch.

Since then, however, the Colombia international has played the full 90 minutes in each of Everton’s five Premier League games, helping his new side to three draws and a win.

In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Mina’s club manager Marco Silva suggested that the centre-back is to continue getting game time, even though some of his teammates may be rotated during the busy festive period.

The 24-year-old has now given an interview to Everton’s official website – with a clip shared on their Twitter page – and said he wants to give fans something to smile about at the other end of the pitch too.

Yerry Mina poses as a new Everton FC player on August 9, 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

“My job is to be a defender, to get clean sheets and to make sure people don’t get near our net,” said Mina.

“But if I do manage to get myself a goal sometime soon I’ll be thankful… at the same time I will certainly be celebrating with a dance. It’s all about enjoying things and hopefully we’ll see some moves soon!”

Mina has scored 16 goals in his senior career to date (Transfermarkt) and has celebrated many of them by doing a dance, so Everton fans will certainly be hoping to see their rock at the back have reason to throw some shapes.
