Leeds United loanee Jamie Shackleton has been lauded by Milwall boss Gary Rowett for his brilliant display in a latest 3-2 win against Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old has been on loan at the Championship club this season in search for game time and in 13 starts, he has shown signs of his class for the East London side. The ‘phenomenal’ talent is a talented central midfielder and has certainly displayed that during his time away from Elland Road.

Now, Milwall manager Gary Rowett has been extremely complimentary of Leeds loanee Jamie Shackleton for his impressive showing for Milwall against Sheffield United.

It seems as if the Englishman has always been touted to reach the top, with Marcelo Bielsa once calling him a ‘very serious player’ via Leeds Live while the likes of Lewis Bate and Sam Greenwood were all in support of his loan switch, and is ‘rated very highly’ by the club as a whole.

Now, Gary Rowett seems to have fully joined the Jamie Shackleton fan club, praising the Leeds technician’s performance for Milwall against Sheffield United, as quoted by the South London Press, “The biggest compliment I can pay Shacks [Jamie Shackleton], and it is no disrespect to Billy [Mitchell], is that we didn’t miss Billy.”

“He’s been such a big player for us that I felt we would. It is a big blow, however Shacks was absolutely outstanding alongside Sav [George Saville], who was really good as well. He (Shackleton) only came off with a bit of cramp because he hasn’t played much. I said to him a month ago that you’re going to get game time and don’t be too disappointed.”

“I couldn’t quite give it to him that point, for different reasons, but now he has got the opportunity and he looked a player who really wanted to take that opportunity.”

Interesting, Marcelo Bielsa once said that the Whites hope’s ‘true position’ is at No.6, where he was deployed against Sheffield as well as in against Fulham in the Carabao Cup.

Leeds supporters should be over the moon, as Jamie Schackleton seems like he is developing excellently on loan at Milwall, as per Gary Rowett after his standout display against Sheffield United.
