Millwall’s FA Cup quarter final draw against Tottenham Hotspur is particularly special for one player, Lions’ goalkeeper Jordan Archer.

Archer began his career with Tottenham Hotspur in their academy but left the club in 2015 in pursuit of first team football.

Archer signed permanently with Millwall following a successful loan spell and established himself as their number one, penning a three-year contract extension last summer.

He kept a clean sheet in their victory over Premier League champions Leicester City at the weekend with a man-of-the-match display and is excited at the prospect of facing his former side – even though he did not get as far as making a first team appearance in North London.

Archer, 23, represented Scotland at under-21 level although has not featured for their senior side as of yet.

He so far has made 86 appearances for Millwall, keeping 34 clean sheets.

The chance to return to White Hart Lane is clearly one he is keenly anticipating, and he will go up against his former Spurs youth teammate Harry Kane, who once had a loan spell at Millwall himself.
