Millwall picked up a point on Wednesday night as they drew 1-1 at home with Reading – and Troy Parrott started.
The Lions took the lead on the stroke of half time, as Parrott won a free kick in a dangerous position, and Jed Wallace fired it into the top corner.
Reading got themselves level just after the break, as Lucas Joao squeezed the ball home from a tight angle, earning the Royals a point.
Neither side could find a winner, but the performance of Parrott was a major bright spot for Gary Rowett’s side in his first league start.
The Irish talent joined Millwall on loan from Spurs over the summer, but injuries have set him back, restricting him to just two appearances before last night’s start.
Big things are expected of the 18-year-old and Spurs will be looking for him to make real strides before returning to North London next summer.
Parrott didn’t get himself on the scoresheet in his 63-minute appearance, but he was a nuisance throughout and played a huge part in Millwall’s goal.
Lions fans took to Twitter last night to react to Parrott’s performance, branding hi ‘bright’ and ‘very promising’.
Others thought he was ‘brilliant’ and ‘very good’, with both Millwall and Spurs fans no doubt excited about what’s to come.
