Millwall have made an approach to bring Bolton Wanderers defender Mark Beevers back to the club, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Beevers spent four seasons at Millwall before joining Bolton last summer on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old was a big fans’ favourite during his time at Millwall, scoring eight goals in 151 appearances for the Lions.

Millwall boss Neil Harris is keen to lure Beevers back to the Den as he looks to bring in experienced performers as he prepares for life back in the Championship next season.

Beevers is in the final year of his contract at Bolton after signing a two-year deal upon his arrival at the club last summer.

The centre-back quickly established himself as a key member of Phil Parkinson’s Bolton side last season, helping them win promotion back to the Championship as they finished second in League One.

Beevers was a virtual ever-present in the Bolton team last term making 51 appearances in all competitions and chipping in with seven goals.

Bolton would be reluctant to lose former Sheffield Wednesday man Beevers with the new season just over a week away, but they are bracing themselves for further interest in the defender before the close of the transfer window.
