The talented youngster has been at Millwall since he was 12 and has racked up quite the list of admirers, with Watford, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers all reportedly interested.

It appears that Watford, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers have been dealt a blow in the race to sign Millwall winger Fred Onyedinma, with Lions boss Neil Harris declaring that he looks set to stay, as reported by the News Shopper.
The 20-year-old winger has been a key cog in Harris’ side over the last two years, having been at The Den since he was 12-year-old – making his debut when he was 17 – and registering 54 appearances in all competitions last season.

Onyedinma’s progression has clearly been impressive enough to catch the eye of admirers elsewhere, and with the winger out of contract in the summer, it’s very possible that the 20-year-old could depart the Den for pastures new.
QPR and Hull’s interest makes a lot of sense, as wingers Josh Bowler and Kamil Grosicki look like they could both be departing Loftus Road and The KC Stadium respectively, while for Watford, they would be signing a young talent that could eventually become a Premier League player for them in the future.
However, while manager Harris did think at one stage that would be the case, he now believes that Onyedinma will remain with the club and look to help keep the club in the Championship following the club’s promotion from League One.

“At one point, it looked as though we may lose Fred,” Harris said, as reported by the News Shopper. “But now it looks as though we may be able to keep him.
“That’s what we want. He is a talented boy with a very bright future – we want that to be at this club. We want to continue working with him.”

Millwall secured their return to the Championship after a two year absence with a 1-0 play-off final victory over Bradford City, which was somewhat marred by a remarkable pitch invasion by the Millwall fans at the full time whistle, despite the measures in place at Wembley to prevent such a thing.
Under Harris, the Lions also had an excellent FA Cup run in the 2016/17 season, and defeated Premier League sides AFC Bournemouth and Leicester City as they reached the fifth round of the competition, where they were then thrashed 6-0 by Tottenham Hotspur.
