Tottenham Hotspur fans were impressed by Kyle Walker-Peters performance during Southampton’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City on Saturday.

The 24-year-old, who came through Tottenham’s academy, opened the scoring with a brilliant one-touch and then finish from a tight angle.

In 2020, Southampton completed the permanent signing of Walker-Peters by putting £12 million on the table for his talents (Daily Mail), with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg moving the other way.

Right-back, or even now right wing-back, has been an issue for Spurs ever since they sold Kieran Trippier and also allowed Walker-Peters to leave.

That’s why it seems like the north London club are looking to bring Adama Traore to the club, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, to try and add quality to that right wing-back role.

There are some Spurs fans who argue that Walker-Peters is better than any option they have out on that right side, including their recent purchases Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty.

One of those players was brought in by Jose Mourinho, whilst the other by Nuno Espirito Santo.

And it’s fair to say that there are a lot of question marks over what they bring to the table.

There might be some Spurs fans who would love to rewind the clock back and keep Walker-Peters at the club.

But the likes of Daniel Levy allowed the sale to go through and now Spurs have to chase their losses.

What’s even better is how well Walker-Peters has improved at St Mary’s and his ability to also play out on the left.

There have been times when he has produced the goods as a left-back, which further showcases his defensive understanding and composure to play that role.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Walker-Peters performance against the current title holders:
