Some Tottenham fans on Twitter have been going crazy over the performance of Dane Scarlett against Newport County U18s.
Tottenham’s U18s were in a spot of bother early on, going 2-0 down against the Welsh outfit, but Scarlett made sure that his side ran away as comfortable winners.
The teenager striker netted five times as Spurs ran out 6-2 winners on the day, and as you can imagine, such a performance made waves on social media.
Fans were quick to praise the youngster for his showing, claiming that he is a generational talent.
It’s no surprise to see Scarlett doing so well, after all, the Tottenham academy coaches have apparently been raving about him.
Some supporters went as far as to say he’s better than the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mason Greenwood, and while those claims are a little bit far-fetched at the moment, don’t be surprised if he reaches that sort of level one day.
Interestingly, one fan said he’s going to be better than Troy Parrott, and while that remains to be seen, it’s going to be interesting to see which of Spurs’ two talented young strikers becomes the best.
Watching Parrott and Scarlett develop over the next decade in north London is certainly a mouth-watering prospect.
Here’s what Spurs supporters have been saying about the youngster on social media…
