Jonathan Kodjia has scored 18 goals in 32 Championship games since arriving at Aston Villa in the summer.

Mile Jedinak has suggested that Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia may actually be slightly disappointed with his goals tally for the Villans this season, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The 27-year-old is Villa’s leading goalscorer in the Championship by a considerable distance this term – his 18 goals leaves him 15 clear of any of his teammates – and is currently enjoying a brilliant run of form, having scored seven in his last seven, including winners against Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich and during their victory over QPR on Tuesday.
But despite his success in front of goal, Jedinak has suggested that the summer signing will not be getting carried away with his return.
“He’s doing everything he can to get those goals,” he said, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
“He’s working very hard for the team which we need and then he’s taking his opportunities.
“Would he, could he have a few more? Probably.
“He’d be the first, probably, to admit that, but he’s not resting and he’s 100 per cent committed to what we’re trying to do.”

In fairness, there were some stages during the season when some supporters doubted whether Kodjia was capable of being the talisman of the side when it came to leading the line as he occasionally missed out on good chances.
However, his recent form in particular is highlighting that the club’s decision to sign him last year was a wise one, and if Villa are to stand any chance of capitalising on their current run and make an unlikely late charge for the play-offs then they will surely need Kodjia to keep finding the back of the net regularly.
