Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak has played as a centre-back in Steve Bruce’s side’s last two matches.

Mile Jedinak has told Australian publication The West that he has recently held a meeting with Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce over his playing position for the future.
Jedinak was brought to Villa as a midfield enforcer, but in recent weeks he has dropped into a role at centre-back.
The 32-year-old has impressed at the heart of Villa’s defence, and helped the claret and blues pick up maximum points against Sheffield Wednesday and Wigan Athletic.
Bruce hinted last week that he believed Jedinak could drop into defence on a permanent basis.
And it seems that Jedinak is currently mulling over the idea of whether he would like to become a defender on a long-term basis.
“We’ve had a discussion on the possibility of doing something like that and (Bruce) is very keen on the idea of it,” Jedinak said.
“I’ve been asked to have a think about it and see how I feel.
“It takes a bit of getting used to but I’ve got full belief and confidence in doing a job there.
“The similarities are quite evident; with experience you can differentiate and know what you have to do.”
Jedinak is currently away on international duty with Australia, where he is expected to return to his defensive midfield position.
However, when Jedinak does return to Villa it seems likely he will continue to be used in defence.
Villa’s next match comes against an in-form Queens Park Rangers side in two weeks’ time.
