Aston Villa midfielder Mile Jedinak has been much improved since Steve Bruce took charge.

Mile Jedinak has praised Steve Bruce’s initial impact at Aston Villa on Yahoo.com.

Jedinak was brought to Villa last summer by Roberto Di Matteo, but he struggled under the Italian’s guidance.

However, since Bruce has come in the 32-year-old has been much improved.

And the former Crystal Palace midfielder said: “He’s made it clear and simplified and there’s no in between with him – he tells it how it is and how he wants it, and you’ve got to try and do it to the best of your ability.

“He’s seen there are things he’s liked and things he hasn’t liked, but it’s been a steady transition.

“But more importantly, he’s been able to get the reaction.

“He’s seen everyone is willing and able to do what he’s asking – now the test is to maintain it and take it up to the next level.”

Bruce has been in charge of Villa for five matches now, and he is still yet to taste defeat.

The claret and blues have been much improved under the 55-year-old’s guidance, as they aim to start moving up the Championship table.

Villa were on the outskirts of the relegation zone when Bruce took charge, but they are now up in 14th place.

Villa are just five points back from the play off spots, and they have made up some ground on the promotion chasing sides.

Villa are next in action on Friday evening, when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
