No wins under Darko Milanic, but reason for Leeds United fans to be positive.
Leeds United are yet to win under new boss Darko Milanic, but they are undefeated in their last two games.
One goal in three games does not sound great, but the way they dug in to get a point against Sheffield Wednesday showed a performance full of grit.
It is the way Milanic wants his team to play, to become hard to beat, and the number of tackles won against their Yorkshire rivals suggests he has his team on their way.
Leeds won 13 more tackles against Wednesday, than in any game this season so far, 18 more than in the previous game against Reading.
| Match | Won Tackle | |
|---|---|---|
| Leeds | Leeds vs Sheff Wed | 34 |
| Leeds | Leeds vs Huddersfield | 21 |
| Leeds | Leeds vs Middlesbrough | 18 |
| Leeds | Leeds vs Reading | 16 |
| Leeds | Millwall vs Leeds | 16 |

| Leeds | Bournemouth vs Leeds | 13 |
| Leeds | Brentford vs Leeds | 12 |

Milanic had said ahead of the game he was looking forward to the ‘special’ derby game, and the resilient and steely nature of his side showed how he may have inspired his team.
The international break now comes at a good time for Leeds, who travel to Norwich for their next match, and are likely to need to show a similar resolve to get a result against the promotion-chasers.
