Serie A Champions AC Milan are reportedly in talks to sign Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga on a permanent basis this summer – but such a move for the Belgian would surely leave Tottenham man Pape Matar Sarr in limbo.

Lokonga, 21, struggled in his first season at Arsenal. The ex-Anderlecht man struggled to get into a midfield that boasted the inconsistent Granit Xhaka and the injury-prone Thomas Partey. Mo Elneny was preferred.

Reports on Wednesday state that Milan are in talks to sign the one-time Belgium international on a permanent basis. Arsenal are open to the midfielder’s exit, with his form at The Emirates below what the club may have hoped for.

With Milan solving their need with a potential move for Lokonga, it leaves Tottenham wonderkid Pape Matar Sarr in limbo. Milan are also said to be in talks for the Tottenham man this summer, but Lokonga talks have emerged.

Milan in Lokonga talks: Tottenham man Sarr in limbo

Reports state that Milan are looking at Sarr. The youngster was bought by Spurs from French side Metz last summer for £14.5million (Mail). But he was sent back to Metz on loan. He is yet to make his Tottenham debut.

Ultimately, he may struggle to do that even this season. Yves Bissouma has come in, to rival Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur. Harry Winks remains at the club, even though he is also likely to depart this summer.

He needs to go on loan again this summer and a temporary deal at Milan was on the cards. But with Milan now pushing for Lokonga, and Sarr’s chance of game time at Spurs very slim, he could be stuck in limbo this season.

Of course, a new club could come in for Sarr before the end of the summer. But as things stand, with Milan looking at Arsenal man Lokonga, they will drop their interest in Sarr – and that leaves him in the stands at Tottenham.
