West Ham United icon Ludek Miklosko has told the club’s official website that he believes his former side can earn three points against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Hammers face Antonio Conte’s Chelsea at the London Stadium in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, with David Moyes still looking for his first win in charge of the Hammers after losing three and drawing one of his first four matches.

The odds are stacked firmly against the Hammers, as they remain in the relegation zone of the Premier League ahead of a busy Christmas period that sees the east Londoners go up against Arsenal next time out.

Miklosko, who played for West Ham for eight years between 1990 and 1998, told the club’s official website that it will be “very, very tough” to beat Chelsea but believes beating their London rivals will kickstart the Hammers’ season.

“It will be a very, very tough game because Chelsea are doing very well and having a good season but I think our players need to go into the game with clear heads, try to perform and in football anything is possible,” Miklosko said.

“I believe that they can turn it around because if they can win that game, they can carry on and it will be a massive, massive boost for all of them.”

Chelsea come into the match unbeaten in their last seven league and cup outings, drawing 1-1 against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night thanks to Stefan Savic’s own goal in the 75th minute.

The Blues will be desperate to keep the pressure on both Manchester clubs who sit in first and second with three points, but the Hammers will take positives from their last five games against Chelsea.

The Hammers have beaten their west London opponents twice in that time, including last season’s Carabao Cup win in October and Moyes will be desperate to make it three out of six.
