Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers appointed Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as the Gers manager in the summer.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard
Ignatov made the comments following Rangers’ failure to win against Spartak at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 18-year-old Russia Under-19 international midfielder also played against Liverpool Under-18 side when Gerrard was in charge of them.
Ignatov told The Scottish Sun: “I played against a Steven Gerrard team last year in the Youth League and we beat his Liverpool side in Russia. There’s nothing special or unusual about him or his tactics.”
Strong comments
It must be great for Ignatov to have been able to do well against Gerrard’s sides, but the Spartak midfielder’s comments about the Rangers manager is harsh.
True, Gerrard could not guide Rangers to a win against Spartak at Ibrox, but the Liverpool legend could lead the Gers to all three points in Moscow.

Moreover, the former England international is only just starting out as a manager, and he is still learning and growing in the role.
Rangers are going strong in the Scottish Premiership this season and also have a chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
