Celtic’s Mikey Johnston comments on Brendan Rodgers’ departure.

Brendan Rodgers’ exit from Celtic shocked everybody associated with the club.
Rodgers quit mid-season to join Leicester City, walking out on the chance to complete a famous ‘treble treble’.
For young talent Mikey Johnston, it was particularly shocking, with the teenager experiencing his first taste of a managerial departure.
Johnston, 19, made his debut under Rodgers and was even selected in December’s Old Firm game.
He told The Daily Record: “I don’t think anyone can deny Brendan was a good manager.
“It is part and parcel of football. It’s the first time I have experienced a manager leaving in my career.
“It was strange but it’s something that happens.
“I liked Rodgers and it was weird for me to start with.”

Rodgers was proud of what he achieved at Celtic, and wanted to go an prove himself in England once again.
Johnston though adds that he has not really been too affected in practical terms by his departure, with new boss Neil Lennon keeping him in his plans.
Johnston added: “The managerial transition has not made a lot of difference.
“Both managers have been great for myself and they both believe in me and have given me opportunities.”
If Lennon has it his way, he will earn the job on a permanent basis.
Then there won’t be any more re-adjustment for Johnston for quite a while.
