Newcastle United have already agreed a fee for Mikel Merino with Borussia Dortmund.

Newcastle United appear to have pulled off a masterstroke by signing up Mikel Merino from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.
Merino was not one of Newcastle’s highest profile summer signings, but he has wasted no time in showing exactly what he can do at St. James’ Park.
The Spaniard has been hugely impressive in his first few appearances in a black and white shirt, with his reputation growing by the game.

Thankfully for Newcastle, they have already agreed a fee for Merino – with his transfer set to be made permanent, provided he makes a certain number of appearances.
Merino will surely meet that clause, providing he avoids injury, and Newcastle can feel very satisfied with this particular piece of business.

Merino’s price tag would be rising by the game if a fee hadn’t already been contractually agreed.
And it seems that Newcastle could be all set to land a bargain next summer, due to the excellent foresight they showed during the previous transfer window.
