Arsenal are about to miss out on the signing of Joao Felix to Graham Potter’s Chelsea, but Gunners manager Mikel Arteta does not seem too fussed about it.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are on the verge of completing the signing of Portugal international forward Felix from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who can also operate as a winger or attacking midfielder and earns £250,000 per week as salary (The Express), has agreed to move to Stamford Bridge this month.

Arsenal and Manchester United want(ed) to sign Felix on a loan deal as well, but it is Chelsea who have agreed to meet former La Liga champions Atletico’s conditions.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, though, does not seem too fussed about missing out on Felix.

The Spaniard was asked about Felix on ITV (10:10pm, January 9, 2023) following Arsenal’s win against Oxford United away from home in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday evening.

Arteta was told that Felix is joining Chelsea instead of Arsenal.

His reply: “My job is to make those players as good as I can. We try to do that, and if we have reinforcements, great.”

Maybe Arteta does not seem too disappointed because Arsenal are reported about to sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

According to SportArena, Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal with Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar over the transfer of the winger to the Emirates Stadium this month.
