Kevin Campbell has made it clear that if Mikel Arteta doesn’t feel the vibes, then ‘Arsenal won’t sign’ Ivan Toney from Brentford.
The 27-year-old, who is currently serving a suspension and will return on January 16, is a player very much in demand despite his absence from the pitch.
Ivan Toney is someone Arsenal fans would love to have in their team given his goalscoring prowess, he netted 20 Premier League goals in 33 games last season.
Kevin Campbell thinks Mikel Arteta will ‘meet’ and ‘speak’ to the player to find out what he is really like, as he told The Highbury Squad.
The former Newcastle United man has got the attention of Arsenal, their players, fans and manager before given some of his previous tweets.
There is no doubt that there is an ‘arrogance’ to his game, which Campbell thinks is fine to have on the pitch, as long as it doesn’t showcase itself in the wrong way or away from the limelight.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal
“The bottom line is that Mikel Arteta will meet, speak and find out what he likes and dislikes,” said Campbell. “Tell him about the dressing room. What is expected of him etc…
“I don’t think a lot of people understand the enormity of playing for Arsenal. He’s not played for anything like this club. He is going to have to get his head down. If he is going to come to us, then he will have to get his head down and work.
“Being arrogant and confident on the pitch is one thing. But being a good teammate is more important to Mikel Arteta.
“And Mikel Arteta will get a feeling from him. If it’s not right, then Arsenal won’t sign him, and rightly so. If you get that vibe that he isn’t going to toe the line, then it’s not going to happen.”

Will Brentford let Toney go?
The answer has been yes because Thomas Frank has openly spoken about letting his star striker go for a big, big fee.
The question remains. Will Toney be allowed to leave in January? As of this moment, the Bees are struggling in the Premier League.
If that continues by the time Toney returns to action, why would they let such a crucial player leave? The timing surely would be all wrong, from their perspective.
