Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Mohamed Elneny has been working hard in training to improve his shooting.
Elneny scored for Arsenal in their 3-1 win against Olympiakos away from home in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday evening.
The 28-year-old defensive midfielder found the back of the net with a wonderful effort from outside the box in the 85th minute.
Arteta has praised the the Egypt international – who cost Arsenal £5 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Basel in January 2016, as reported by The Daily Mail – and has shared how hard he has been working in training.
The Spaniard told Arsenal’s official website: “And Mo in particular, because of how he’s been training so hard to improve his shooting range with Roundy [Steve Round] and he got his reward tonight. It’s very important for the team.”
Important player for Arsenal
Elneny is not guaranteed a place in the Arsenal starting lineup, but the Egypt international defensive midfielder is an important player for manager Arteta.
The 28-year-old can make an impact off the bench and also does well when he starts games.

According to WhoScored, the Egyptian has made 12 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.
The defensive midfielder has also made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Europa League for the North London club this campaign, scoring two goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
