Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Thomas Partey on the club’s official website.

Arteta has outlined the attributes of the Ghana international midfielder, and he is pleased to have been able to sign him from Atletico Madrid.

As reported on BBC Sport, the 27-year-old joined the Gunners from Spanish club Atletico on summer transfer deadline day on Monday for £45.3 million.

Arteta told Arsenal’s website: “We have been watching Thomas for a while, so we’re now delighted to add such a high quality player to our squad. He is a dynamic midfielder with great energy. He brings a lot of experience from a top club that has competed at the highest level in La Liga and the Champions League for several years.

“We’re very impressed with his attitude and his approach to the game. He’s an intelligent footballer and we’re looking forward to him integrating into our system and contributing to the progress we’re building at the moment at the club.”

Good signing for Arsenal?

Partey is a very good midfielder who has extensive experience of playing in La Liga and in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old will make the Gunners stronger in the middle of the park, and he will also be able to protect the back-line better.

Arsenal are a better team with Partey in it, and the North London club’s fans must be happy that the club could sign him.

Good summer transfer window

Arsenal have been quite busy in the summer transfer window, and it has been very productive for them.

Among the major transfer business that the Gunners have done, Willian has moved on a free transfer, Gabriel has joined from Lille, and Daniel Ceballos has returned on loan from Real Madrid.
