Arteta has said that the right-back is looking to improve all the time, and believes that the 25-year-old will get better.
The Arsenal boss made the comments following the Gunners’ 2-1 win against Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arteta told Football.London about Bellerin: “It’s no secret. He demands all the time to do more individual work, to improve in the final third, he’s doing a lot of reviews, a lot of individual defensive work in things he has to improve. When you do that you get rewarded.
“Maybe it won’t happen in the first week or the first month but over time he will improve. He had a difficult period as well, his head was doubting because of the time that he has been here, a lot of things were happening in the background.
“I trust him. I know him really well. I know how much he can still improve and he is showing every day that he’s willing to do it. I’m pleased because I really like him.”

Stats
According to WhoScored, against United on Sunday, Bellerin played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 86.2%, won one header, took 81 touches, attempted two dribbles, made one tackle and four interceptions, and put in one cross.
The right-back has provided two assists in four Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season, according to WhoScored.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the Spain international made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the league for the North London club, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
Important player for Arsenal
Bellerin has had injury problems in recent times, but the right-back is now fully fit and available.
The Spain international right-back is playing brilliantly at the moment, and he will get better and improve, as he is still only 25 years of age.
With Arsenal aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season and also looking to make an impact in the Europa League, Bellerin will play a big role for the Gunners.
