Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Calum Chambers for his performance against West Ham United, as quoted in Football.London.

Chambers played well for Arsenal in the London derby, as the Gunners came from three goals down to play out a 3-3 draw with West Ham at London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The 26-year-old right-back was brilliant at the back and looked very good when he went on the attack.

Arteta told Football.London about Chambers: “He was really good. He’s been training really well. He’s a player who gives us something else. He was superb. He was really efficient in the final third as well. I think he had a super performance.”

Impressive performance

Chambers is not guaranteed a place in the Arsenal starting lineup, but the 26-year-old has done well when he has been called into action.

Against the Hammers, the England international – who has been on the books of Arsenal since 2014 – went on marauding runs down the right and was a problem for the opposition defence.

According to WhoScored, Chambers took one shot which was not on target, played three key passes, had a pass accuracy of 84.1%, won three headers, took 62 touches, made one tackle and six clearances, and put in eight crosses.

So far this season, the defender has played twice in the Premier League and four times in the Europa League for the Gunners, according to WhoScored.
